Almaguin Pet Rescue
Who We are
A small group of volunteers who assist abandoned, neglected and homeless animals in the Almaguin Highlands area. We are a not-for profit, registered charity that provides any necessary medical treatment (spay/neuter and vaccinations) before finding forever families for animals in need.
Cats Available for Adoption
We currently do not have any animals available for adoption at this time, but please check with other rescues in our area such as All Heart Pet Rescue, Muskoka Animal Rescue, Pets Need Love 2, Carter's Forever Rescue and Sanctuary. andNorth Bay Humane Society.
We currently do not have any cats or kittens available for adoption but our friends North of us at All Heart Pet Rescue in Powassan, ON have adult dogs that are looking for their forever homes.
Their oldest adoptable canine Ozzy is still searching for his forever home at 10 years of age.
He was surrendered at the age of fifteen months old in Southern Ontario. He arrived to All Heart in summer of 2013. He was then adopted out in August 2015 but unfortunately returned in July 2019.
This boy is looking for his forever home. Someone who will love him for his large personality and show him unconditional love.
Ozzy is a male pug x beagle. He is neutered and up to date on shots.
Don't let his age fool you, hes a spry senior. Ozzy is an observant dog that takes his time to let people in. Hes loving once he trusts you otherwise hes guarded because hes been bounced around from shelter to different homes. Hes very clean in the house. Can live in a house with passive dogs. He tends to want to be lead dog therefore he would not do well with a dog that would challenge him.
His foster home would of kept him but there is an issue with the male dog and Ozzy. He was in foster care with cats as well. The family states once Ozzy is shown not to go in a certain area in the house he left the cat alone.
He does protect his toys and bones from dogs and people therefore he is not recommended with young children. He would do best with children who respect his space. In an instance that the potential adopted has grandchildren would visit, it would be possible that such a dog could be in the same home but Ozzy would have to have a secluded safe spot to resort to.
They are very grateful for the progress that his foster homes have made with him. At this time Ozzy is in need of a permanent home.
